Welcome to the Daytona Beach Police Department Online Learning Center

This site is the beginning of a complete online learning and resource presence within the agency. Everything here is generated by and for the officers and employees of the Daytona Beach Police Department.

Development of the Online Learning Center will continue. If you have any suggestions, comments or complaints, please feel free to email Kevin Duffy at duffyk@dbpd.us.

We encourage you to go through the Orientation/Introduction segment to familiarize yourself with the features and benefits of the Online Learning Center. Contact us with questions.

As we develop new courses and features, we will let you know. In the meantime, watch us as we grow!

Using the Online Learning Center

We have tried to make the Online Learning Center easy to use. However, it can be a little confusing at first. Here we will try to help you navigate around the site and take full advantage of its benefits and features.

The listing on the front page are "categories." Presently, there are four categories:

  • Orientation/Introduction
  • Annual Agency Training
  • On-Demand Training
  • Policy and Procedure Training

In each of these categories there may be courses, resources or sub-categories. For example, there are two resources for "how to use the system" and an introduction.

In Annual Agency Training, there are subcategories for each of the topics that are required each year. Each subcategory has a course for this year. Click on the course, then start at the top of the menu and look at each lesson. There are extra resources, including any applicable policies, court decisions, and other documents. Finally, there is a quiz that you must take to get credit for the course. The quizzes consist of multiple choice and true-false questions. You must get a score of 75% or higher to pass. You have ten minutes to complete the ten questions, and may repeat the quiz three times. There is a time period between each attempt. When you successfully complete the quiz, a certificate will be immediately generated for you. The certificate will also be automatically emailed to the training division and your passing score will be recorded.

To review your scores or to view your certificates in the future, go to your PROFILE and you will be able to review anything that you have taken.

There are Legal Updates in its own area. When there is a legal update in our email system, we transfer it here and provide other information, including the court ruling and other pertinent documentation. As new updates are added, they appear at the top, with the older ones going down the list.

We have done the same thing with Training Tips.

If you have any questions or suggestions, please let us know.  There is a lot of potential for here, so let us know what you think!
