Standards for Photographic or Live Lineups in Eyewitness Identification

Please Note: During the 2017 Session the Legislature made changes to how officers conduct photographic and live lineups. Those changes are effective October 1, 2017 and have been incorporated into this course. Additionally, the statute directs the Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission to "create educational materials...on how to conduct lineups." Commission staff at FDLE are now developing a more robust online course for Commission approval in November 2017. Please check back after November 10, 2017.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement has developed an online course entitled “Standards for Photographic or Live Lineups in Eyewitness Identification” that can be taken via this website.

Certified officers may be awarded one hour of training that can be applied toward the 40 hour mandatory retraining requirement.

Important message: You must print the quiz results page upon completion of this training course. Please ensure you are connected to a printer prior to beginning the online training course, as we are unable to track or store your information.

Once you have completed this online course, print, sign, and date the quiz results page. You can then turn your quiz results page in to the person designated by your agency to enter records into the Automated Training Management System (ATMS) and a certificate can be provided to you by that designee.

Questions and concerns may be directed to the Bureau of Professional Development at (850) 410-7373.

The following courses are required for all employees under Homeland Security Presidential Directive 5 - National Incident Management System.

Click on the course link to access the course.  Once successfully completed, print and forward a hard copy of your course certificate to the training unit for your files.   These courses are only required to be completed once in your career.  NOTE:  These courses are administrated by DHS/FEMA.  Independent Study Exams now require a FEMA Student Identification (SID) Number. If you do not yet have a SID, register for one today: Please do not contact the Independent Study program office as they are unable to provide assistance with these requests.
